I Was Trying to Prove It
Here's what a lot of us don't say out loud when we start something new. We carry it like a test we have to pass. I carried it that way. I thought it was all on me to make the results happen, and I measured myself by every lead, every post, and every sale.
Then the leads started to disappear. I was stuck in the ad testing phase with ads that weren't converting yet, slowly building my organic reach, and an account was shut down with no warning. Leads I had worked for were gone overnight. I wasn't just discouraged. I started asking whether God even saw me struggling.

What I Already Believed
My mentors kept gently pointing me back to Him, and somewhere in the middle of that struggle, a question surfaced that I couldn't ignore. Do I believe in God? Yes. Do I wake up needing to prove He exists? No. I simply know. I desire Him, and I want to walk in His will, not mine, and that desire has never needed a scoreboard.
So why was I demanding a scoreboard from my business? God created me. He loves me. He believes in me. If I can rest in what I can't prove about Him, I can rest in the calling He put on my life without proving it to anyone, including myself. That's what faith over fear looks like for me now. I do the work, and I stop measuring myself by results that were never mine to create.

Belief Isn't Passive
Believing didn't mean sitting back. After my leads disappeared, I stopped putting everything into one platform and started building a second lane, Pinterest and blogging, so one closed account could never take it all again. Pinterest works like a search engine, so it doesn't depend on going viral, and a blog is a home that belongs to me.
Of all the small business growth ideas out there, this is one I stand behind: build more than one lane while you build the first. Not out of fear that something will fail, but out of trust that you'll be ready if it does.

Start Before You Feel Proven
I'm still here. The account closed, and the business didn't. I'm home with my daughter while I build, and Pinterest and my blog are where I show up now. I haven't reached financial freedom yet, and I can't promise you a result, because your success is yours alone to build. What I can tell you is that you don't have to prove yourself to start.
If you're waiting to feel proven before you begin, you'll wait a long time. Take the step you believe God has put in front of you, and trust Him with the results.

FAQ
What are some small business lead generation ideas that don't rely on one platform?
Give people a reason to come to you. Share your story where they're already searching, then invite them to something free, like a web class, so they can decide at their own pace.
Can I do affiliate marketing as a Christian woman and still keep my faith first?
Yes. Share only what you truly use and believe in, be honest about where you are, and let God have the results.
What if I still feel like I have to prove myself?
Then start smaller. Pick one small step, pray over it, and measure the week by whether you took it, not by what came back.
