Christian New Year Goals for the Working Mom God Is Calling Into Business
You want to build another source of income, but carrying every result can leave you exhausted. As a Christian working mom, I'm learning to build with God, set faith-led goals, and let faith over fear guide my business, family, and the steps I take into the New Year.
When God called me into business, I did what a lot of driven women do. I focused on the results I needed to bring.
As a Christian entrepreneur, I'm learning that building a business with God is as much about who I'm becoming as it is about what I produce. If you're a Christian working mom who feels God putting business on your heart heading into the new year, here's how I'm setting my goals now.
Who This Is For
- Christian working moms who feel God putting an online business on their heart but don't know where to start
- Christian moms building a business alongside their job who realize their goals have become all about results
- Christian women who want another source of income without building another life that takes them away from their family

When My Goals Were All About Results
When I started building my business, every goal I wrote began with the same words. I need to. I need to get this done. I need to make this happen. I need to reach this goal.
After being laid off, I could have gone back to another job. Instead, I started a business from home. Being home with my daughter had already been put on my heart while I was still working. I knew I wanted another way to create income, but I didn't know how to do it.
Once I found this business, I became so focused on making it work that I started putting all of the results on my shoulders. When things didn't move the way I expected, I felt every bit of it. I thought I needed to work harder, figure out more, and make the results happen.
I was asking God to guide my business while still trying to control where it was going.

What God Showed Me Through Business
Here's what I didn't expect. Building a business started showing me who I was.
I kept asking God to make me a better person and soften my heart. Then He started showing me the parts of myself I didn't necessarily want to see. The selfishness, bitterness, rejection, the words I spoke to myself and others, and the things in my heart that still needed work.
At the same time, He started putting Christians in my life through this business. His Word was put on my heart. Then came faith-filled mentors. Then I desired a church, and now I have fellowship.
I started this business thinking about income and freedom for my family, but God has used it to grow my relationship with Him too.
That's when my goals started changing. I still have business goals. I still want financial growth. But I'm learning that my job is to do the work and let God create the results.

The Christian New Year Goals I'm Setting
A Faith-Filled New Year, for me, starts with these goals. Here's what's on my list.
- Let God show me who I am. I'm saying yes to the growth this business keeps bringing, even when it's uncomfortable.
- Keep His Word at the center of my days. I read it early in the morning when I can and in the evening when the day goes differently. I don't want a busy season of business to push God out.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to fill me. I was asking God to show me my heart and change my heart, but I realized I wasn't asking the Holy Spirit to fill me. That's something I'm bringing into this new year.
- Speak life over myself. Proverbs 18:21 says life and death are in the power of the tongue. I'm paying more attention to what I say about myself, especially when business feels hard.
- Stay close to my people. God has shown me I don't have to build alone.
- Build to serve and trust Him with the results. I want to use my story to help the working mom who may only be a few steps behind me, without carrying the weight of controlling every result.

New Year, Faith Over Fear
Fear will tell you to wait until you feel ready, have the perfect plan, know exactly how the money will come in, or finally feel qualified.
Faith has looked different for me. It has looked like taking the next step even when I don't know exactly where it's going to lead.
I haven't reached financial freedom yet, and I'm not going to pretend I have. But I am home with my daughter while I build. I've developed skills I never had before. I've watched this business change lives, and God has already used this journey to change mine in ways I wasn't expecting.
If you keep feeling something being put on your heart, maybe this is the year you finally explore it instead of talking yourself out of it.

FAQ
Can a Christian working mom start an online business alongside her job?
Yes. You don't have to leave your job to start building something of your own. You can learn and build alongside your job and family while creating another source of income.
How do I know if God is calling me into business? I can't tell you what God is calling you to do.
Pray about what's on your heart, read His Word, ask for discernment, and seek wise Christian counsel. For me, it kept coming back to being home with my daughter.
What are good new year business models to make money online without feeling salesy?
This was important to me too. I'm learning to share my story, serve people, and talk about something I genuinely believe in instead of feeling like I have to convince someone. I'm building a faith-based business model for Christian women through affiliate marketing, with training, mentorship, and a community behind it.
If any part of my story sounds like where you are right now, I'd love to show you what I'm building from home.
You might be wondering, "Is this actually legit? Could I really do this?"
I asked those questions too.
I'm only a few steps ahead. Let's build income together with God.
