Faith Over Fear: Putting God at the Center of Your Business
You feel called to build something bigger, but fear keeps pulling you toward what feels safe. Discover how faith over fear, Christian fellowship, and putting God at the center helped me step into becoming a Christian entrepreneur while building from home.
I've always been a woman with big dreams and a long list of reasons not to chase them. I'd get right to the edge of something bigger than me, feel my stomach drop, and quietly walk back to what was safe. So when God put a business in my heart, I knew exactly what I would do. I'd talk myself out of it, the way I always had. This is the story of the one time I didn't.

From Playing It Safe to Saying Yes
I was ambitious, but I let fear run my life anyway. I earned the degree and built a career on the safe path, because safe felt like wisdom. Underneath it all, I wanted a more direct way to make a difference in people's lives, but I was too scared to go after it. Then my daughter came along, and a quiet tug started. I felt torn between being home and going to work. I told myself it was guilt and kept showing up.
The layoff changed everything. In the middle of all that uncertainty, something clicked. Every time I'd felt torn suddenly made sense. It had never been guilt. It was a calling. God was setting me up to be home with my daughter, to root her in her faith, and to help provide for our family while I did it. The only problem was that I had no idea how. I didn't believe it was possible to be home and bring in income without trading my time for a paycheck. But God made a way. He put this faith-based business in my heart, and I said yes. Saying yes didn't make the fear disappear. It meant I moved anyway.

I Said Yes, But He Wasn't at the Center Yet
Faith-based mentors showed up in my path, and being around them changed what I wanted. I started craving Bible time. I started craving fellowship. I started craving church, which surprised me, because church hadn't always felt like somewhere I wanted to be. My Christian goals got clearer too, and Proverbs 27:17 explains why. Iron sharpens iron. They weren't only cheering for my business, they were sharpening my faith, and my faith is what carries it. When doubt crept in, I had people to pray with me and tell me the truth, gently. Fear grows in isolation. It shrinks when someone who loves God sits beside you and says, keep going.

Who Really Creates the Results
The closer I've grown to God, the more I've understood that He is the one who provides and creates all the results. My job was never to manufacture them. My job is to be obedient, show up, do the work, and trust Him with the outcome. That has taken a pressure off me that nothing else ever has.
I'm not going to pretend I've arrived. I haven't reached financial freedom yet, and the road has had real struggle and plenty of seeds of doubt. But I'm home with my daughter while I build, and I've watched this same opportunity change other people's lives. That's why I would say yes again.

Your Faith Filled New Year Starts With Your People
So here's what I'd tell the woman I used to be, the one standing at the edge of a yes. Don't only set goals for the new year, choose your people first. Find believers who will pray with you and cheer when you take the next step, and find them before January instead of after. You only have to say yes to the next step. God will provide the rest.
