I didn't think God was working, but He was the whole time. The strangest part is that starting an online business is what showed me. If you want to make real leaps in your faith and you have some resilience in you, I highly recommend it. Here's why.

Who This Is For

  • Christian women setting goals for the new year who want to make real leaps in their spiritual growth
  • Christian moms asking how to grow closer to God while building a business from home
  • Christian women with resilience who are weighing an online business or affiliate marketing and want it rooted in faith

When the Setbacks Drew Me Closer

If it weren't for my online business, I wouldn't have leaned on God as much as I did. It wasn't so much that my faith was tested. It was that I was fed lies, negative thinking habits I didn't know how to shake. What broke them was community. My mentors, my fellowship, my friends, and the sisters God put in my life all spoke life into me when I couldn't speak it myself.

Then came the setbacks. A second Meta account deactivated. A second silent ban on TikTok. As a content creator and affiliate marketer, that hurt my business, and I started wondering whether He even saw me struggling. Looking back, I think He allowed it to bring me closer. I had been so focused on bringing the results myself that I was carrying everything on my own shoulders, and the people around me kept reminding me I wasn't alone. He gives the results, and you are where you're supposed to be.

As a Christian woman, I've found that entrepreneurship has made me a better mother, a better wife, and a better daughter of God. I invested in my personal development to get closer to Him, and the more I wanted to be better, the more I felt Him seeking me back.

He Was Never Gone

Even when I was young and my family was in so much chaos, He was there. I look back now and think, I'm alive because of God, because He sent His angels, because of prayer. My father once said, I hope she finds Jesus, in prayer, and I did. I was a good person, but I was troubled, living my story out of my pain, and I did things I'm not proud of today.

When I finally started seeking Him, I asked Him to change me, and He did. I asked Him to help me be a good person and to bring me a good man, and I've watched Him answer prayer after prayer, big and small. As the old things left, I realized something had to fill the space. If you don't fill it with light, darkness comes back tenfold. That's why I ask the Holy Spirit to fill me.

Why I Believe God Called Me Home

Seeking Him also changed what I wanted my work to be. My goal was never just a nine to five. It was to build my daughter's firm foundation in Christ, and I believe I can't raise her the way I want if I'm gone eight hours a day. That's no shade to anyone who works outside the home, it's simply my belief for our family.

I believe God called me home, and that He used my layoff to do it. I only wanted to be there for my daughter so I wouldn't miss time with her, because she grows up so fast. But He showed me a bigger purpose. Being home gives her time with me to get to know her Lord and Savior. His plan was bigger than mine, and I'm eternally grateful.

Building a Business That Lifts Up His Kingdom

Christian entrepreneurship isn't for the faint-hearted. We want to be better, we want to uphold His kingdom, and this path will grow you. You can build a faith-filled business with Bible studies, devotionals, women-only or couples-only gatherings, and fellowship built right into it. You can praise Him in your business, not only at church.

I believe wealth can serve His kingdom, and that God wants us to steward what He gives us by bringing more people to Christ. I'm still building toward financial freedom myself, but with it you can affect more communities. Hobby Lobby is a well-known example of a business built around Christian values.

Your Faith-Filled New Year Starts With Seeking Him

So here's how I'd start the year. Before you write a single goal, look at your habits. Are you reading His Word early in the morning? Are you journaling? Make seeking Him the first goal, however that looks for you, a prayer walk, church, a devotional, or Bible time. There's no wrong way as long as you seek Him and let His will be yours.

Then build your other goals around that. Mine became about my daughter's foundation in Christ and serving others through my story. If you want a faith-filled new year with leaps in your faith you never imagined, start where He is already nudging you. I hope this grows your relationship with Him and your Christian goals for the year ahead.

FAQ

Can starting an online business really help me grow my faith?

It can, because it keeps putting you in situations where you have to lean on God instead of yourself.

Is affiliate marketing a good fit for Christian women?

I feel it's one of the easiest ways to serve a lot of people with something you love and believe in, since you're sharing a product instead of building one from scratch. It still takes consistent work, and your results are yours to build.

What if I'd rather build my business on my own?

Then I'd pause. The lies and doubt are much louder when no one is praying with you. Find a church group, a Bible study, or a community of believers first, then build.

If any part of this stirred something in you, I'd love to show you what I'm building from home. You might be wondering, "Is this actually legit? Could I really do this?" I asked myself those same questions. Signing up is quick, so click the button below to join the web class and watch when you're ready.
